日本神話・伝説とユニークなキャラクター

　日本の神話と伝承は、『古事記』『日本書紀』に記された神々の物語から、各地の民間伝承や英雄譚まで、長い歴史の中で形づくられてきました。そこには神々だけでなく、妖怪や霊獣、歴史的英雄など、多様な存在が登場します。

　嵐の神スサノオと、ヤマタノオロチ伝説に関わるクシナダヒメ、富士山の象徴として知られるコノハナサクヤ、そして伝説の皇子ヤマトタケルなどは、日本神話を代表する人物です。

　また、鬼や天狗、牛鬼、九尾の狐といった妖怪たちは、各地の伝承や物語の中で語り継がれてきました。さらに、守護の象徴である仁王やシーサー、吉兆を表す鳳凰、神の使いとされる八咫烏など、象徴的な存在も数多く登場します。

　こうした神々や妖怪、英雄たちは、日本文化の中でさまざまな形で表現され、切手の図像にも描かれてきました。『女神転生』シリーズでも、スサノオやヨシツネ、九尾の狐など多くの存在が悪魔として登場し、日本神話の世界観を独特の形で再解釈しています。

Japanese Mythology and Forklore

Japanese mythology and folklore draw from ancient texts such as the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki, as well as regional legends and heroic tales.Alongside the gods, these traditions include spirits, monsters, sacred animals, and legendary heroes.

Figures such as the storm god Susanoo, the princess Kushinadahime, the blossom goddess Konohanasakuya-hime, and the hero prince Yamato Takeru are central to Japanese myth.
Folklore also tells of creatures like Oni, Tengu, Gyuki, and the mysterious nine-tailed fox.

Symbolic guardians and auspicious beings—including Nio temple guardians, Okinawan Shisa, the sacred crow Yatagarasu, and the phoenix-like Hōō—also appear in Japanese tradition.Many of these figures have been depicted on postage stamps and in traditional art.

They also appear in the Shin Megami Tensei series, where characters such as Susanoo, Yoshitsune, and Kyubi no Kitsune are reimagined in a modern mythological world.
